Lockheed C-130A-II Hercules, 56-0528, msn 3136, one of ten that had been modified. Aircraft belonged to the 7406th Combat Support Squadron based at Rhein Main, Germany. The overly large external tanks were false and made from fiberglass. Each was six feet in diameter and 15 feet long and housed sophisticated electronics. The tanks could be fueled with a small amount of fuel further concealing their purpose. The national insignia was held on by dzus fasteners that allowed quick removal. (Photo form Don Rogers)
