The Curtiss O-52 was the last of the classic two-seat heavy observation aircraft put into production. The U.S. Army Air Force ordered 203 in the 1940/1941 contract. Its only fault lay in being an airplane without a purpose. The mission it had been designed for ceased to exist soon after delivery. (Photo from the AAHS collection)
