At last the definitive work on the airwar and airlift in Biafra 1967-1970 has arrived. This 288 page hardback book with nearly 300 black & white or color illustrations plus color line drawings successfully combines the factual background with many personal memories of those involved. If you are interested in Constellations or Douglas 4-engined props, C-47s or C-97s, or MiG fighters and Minicons, you will find much new information in the pages of this book. Thirty years after the end of the war,  many of the mercenary pilots, gun-runners and shady dealers involved have dared to speak out about their involvement. The reader will be fascinated by some of the stories  detailing how the Biafrans acquired their arms and aircraft and amazed at how many times former trans-Atlantic airliners landed successfully on jungle strips with virtually no aids. This book can be recommended for its wealth of previously unpublished illustrations alone, while to some the pages of individual aircraft history and movement details in the appendices will be invaluable for use in their own research projects.
