This is a very readable account of the flying-boat years 1919 to 1964, from the Burgess N-9H "]enny" to the P5M-2 Mariners of the US Navy. Colin takes you from the '"Early Years", through the prie-War operations at Darrell's Island, to the Royal Air Force wartime activities at this important Atlantic base. Included are the activites of the bases for the Fleet Air Arm, "HMS Malabar" and the US Navy, to their final years of flying-boat operations in 1964. A fine assortment of photographs has been included, plus a full list of Annexes, Bibliography and an Index. Well worth the money!
