Air Commando One: Heinie Aderholt and America's Secret Air Wars, by Warren A. Rest, Smithsonian Institution Press, PO Box 960, Hendon VA 20172-0960. Ph:800 782-4612 for ordering information. lSBN # 1-56096-807-X, $27.95, hardcover with dust jacket, 322 pages and some photographs.

This story of the life and career of Brigadier General Heimie Aderholt is both exciting and revealing. It provides a pretty good look behind the scenes in air-dropping agents behind the lines and secret flights over enemy territories.

It's good to read about the sacrifices of so many in the unconventional special operations wings.

There sure was a lot more going on than we ever read or heard about. Good book.
