This aircraft was built for the Netherlands East Indies Air
Force as a DC-3, but due to the war, was delivered to the USAAF as a C-49J,
43-1974, on November 16, 1942. Chicago & Southern received this DC-3 ,
NC12927 msn 4998 fleet #33, on April 27, 1945. NC12927 was one of the 12
DC-3s that went to Delta on May 1, 1953. photo taken at Chicago's Midway
Airport 10/18/52. |
